Russian Circles Detroit Concert reviews
Madonna Brings Her Rebel Heart to L.A.
Madonna displayed last night in L.A. why she is the ultimate Queen. Her live shows are not simply concerts; they are some of the finest out there in any format. You not only experience the decades of hits but also the acrobatics, the incredible choreography, and the cutting-edge stage. This is why she has some of the most lucrative tours in history, and I am confident that the Rebel Heart Tour will rank among the best tours as well. While you do get a lot of the new material (which isn't everyone's cup of tea), it seamlessly melds with the older tracks, creating a cohesive dance mix. For our show, she included some seldom-performed gems, and the audience adored it. Among these were: "Burning Up", "True Blue", "Deeper and Deeper", "Dress You Up", "Material Girl", and various other classics. These are tunes she hasn't played in a long time. Naturally, she also featured the more popular hits such as "Like A Prayer", "Vogue", and "Holiday". The ticket prices are steep, VERY steep, but you can see that your investment is justified by the sheer grandeur of this exceptional spectacle. Frankly, I would gladly pay the high cost just to hear those rare classics she delivered last night. An array of celebrities graced the audience (typical for LA), including: Beyonce, Jay Z, Salma Hayek, Queen Latifah, and others. A noteworthy guest, Katy Perry, occupied a prime spot and eventually joined the stage to assist with one of the Russian Circles skits. One possible critique of the show would be to have fewer skits and "comedy" in the future. Overall, Madonna demonstrated that age is merely a number and proved to the younger pop stars that they have significant shoes to fill and must elevate their game in their own performances. To reiterate my initial statement, Madonna displayed to all why she is the Queen.
